The fourth installment of Love To Eat, Eat To Love™️ was a month-long campaign throughout the month of October 2022 with over 100 St. Louis restaurants, bars, shops, brands, and distributors working together to raise money for National Domestic Violence Awareness Month.
Over $50,000 was raised for several local organizations, with each establishment directly donating their contributions to their chosen non-profit.
What started as a Facebook post by STLwinegirl Angela Ortmann to promote kindness, positivity, and collaboration is now a movement to celebrate diversity & inclusion and to speak out on critical issues facing our community. The accomplishments of this project are a true testament to the synergetic food and drink scene of St. Louis and the extraordinary goodwill of the local public.
The first Love To Eat, Eat To Love™️ event, "Immigration Collaboration," was an idea born out of reaction to the travel ban in early 2017. In February of that year, our event at Mai Lee Restaurant showcased over 50 immigrant chefs and immigrant-owned restaurants to raise money for the International Institute and other inclusion-focused programs.
The success and popularity of that evening inspired the idea to turn the concept into a series of events.
The rise of the #MeToo movement prompted the second installment of Love To Eat, Eat To Love. The fundraiser took place at 2nd Shift Brewery in November 2017 and highlighted the wonderfully talented women working in the food and beverage scene of St. Louis and beyond. "Force De Femme" featured 100+ female chefs, restaurateurs, bartenders, brewers, sommeliers, farmers, distillers, distributors, artisans, makers, etc, collectively creating a unique food and drink experience to raise money for organizations that support and protect women in need and programs that empower young girls preparing for their future.
When Covid-19 hit in March 2020, LTEETL launched a GoFundMe online fundraiser to help hospitality staff that lost jobs.

The Love To Eat, Eat To Love series and team continues to seek opportunities to support the STL food & beverage scene and the community it graciously serves.
